FEU – knowledgebase
The Federation of European Fire Officers (FEU) is a Europe-wide network for fire service leaders and professionals. It has already initiated numerous projects and will continue to support new initiatives in the future. Some of these projects have been funded by the European Union, contributing to innovation and cooperation in the fire service across Europe.
Information about European Fire Services
All results and findings are collected in a central knowledge database. The highlighted links hereafter provide a comprehensive overview of the structures, strategies, and developments of fire services in Europe – a valuable resource for professionals and interested parties.
Career Development
The FEU has already supported many careers and will continue to offer firefighters opportunities for training, international networking, and professional development. The FEUCARE project established a data foundation for this in 2001.
The different approaches to civil protection in Europe are reflected both in the overview of the various ranks, which are linked to the general responsibilities of fire service leaders, and in the comparative study of responsibilities across different areas of civil protection.
Terminology for International Cooperation
To facilitate cross-border cooperation, the FEU has compiled national technical terms and definitions and made them available in a multilingual database. This glossary is intended to help fire service professionals from different countries work together efficiently and seamlessly.
In short: The FEU is the platform for exchange, projects, and career development in the European fire service – and a driving force for international cooperation, yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
